Erik and Julie tied the knot on a beautiful August 16, 2015. They chose to make their reception a Lake Barrington Wedding Reception at The Onion Pub and Brewery located in Lake Barrington, Illinois. This was our first time at this venue and we were highly impressed with the location, professional service and staff, and excellent food!
This brewery (Wild Onion) has been around since the early 1900s. It even kept brewing beer in the 1920s during the infamous prohibition era! However, the actual location that this Lake Barrington Wedding Reception was hosted first opened its doors in 2003. The reception also took place in The Great Hall at The Onion. The Great Hall has a large timber anchoring the cathedral-style ceiling and overlooks the pub’s private 11-acre lake. There is also a manmade waterfall next to the multi-level veranda that guests can retire to while enjoying a few drinks.
As the cocktail hour finished up and guests made their way to their seats, out came the bridal party and bride and groom dancing to LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem”! After a few toasts and a prayer, the dinner hour of this Lake Barrington Wedding Reception was officially underway! During this time, guests ate, laughed and even did a bit of clinking on their glasses to make Erik and Julie kiss!
The dance floor opened and we were able to play a lot of guests’ requests! When Erik and Julie sent out their Lake Barrington Wedding invitations guests had the option of adding a song request on the RSVP that was being sent back. This is a great idea and one that we have seen been done in the past too! It is a great way to get all of your guests involved during the dancing.
Altogether it was an awesome Lake Barrington Wedding Reception and one that we were so happy to be a part of! A big congratulation goes out to Erik and Julie on their marriage! Thank you for letting us be your Lake Barrington Wedding DJ!
